Starwood Honors Orkin with Supplier Excellence Designation
Starwood Hotels and Resorts recently announced Orkin as one of the recipients of The Supplier Excellence Award, an honor given annually by the Starwood Supply Chain Leadership Team.
Out of 8,000 suppliers, only 10 were selected to receive this prestigious award. Starwood gives this honor to suppliers it has deemed exemplary in both service and value as a partner.
Randal Savage, director of NAD Room Operations at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, nominated Orkin for the award to acknowledge Orkin’s continued dedication to responsive, effective operating practices, and for providing pest prevention training to Starwood’s Rooms University.
With over 1,270 properties worldwide in 100 countries, Starwood values partners that provide consistent service across its many locations. National partners since 2002, Orkin and Starwood’s long-standing relationship has led to year over year improvement in pest management techniques.
“Our main focus over the past 14 years has been to quickly respond to requests and resolve issues. We’ve heard from several operations folks at various Starwood locations that they are grateful for our attention to questions or issues that arise,” said Eric Hardaway, Orkin hospitality business development manager.
Orkin also works with Starwood’s Rooms University to further educate employees about proactive pest management. Orkin technical Director Dr. Ron Harrison conducts a quarterly training program for all University attendees.
Starwood’s most notable lifestyle hospitality brands include Sheraton, Westin, and St. Regis.
