Cross-Industry Webinar Explores Bed Bug Business Implications
Orkin, AH&LA, BOMA and NAA open the dialogue to put bed bugs to rest.
Atlanta-based pest control company Orkin has partnered with the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA International) and the National Apartment Association (NAA) to host a cross-industry bed bug web conference that will take the discussion beyond the typical pest control issues and into the more complex business implications of this resilient pest. Registration begins today for the free web conference, called “What’s Your Bed Bug Business Plan?” at www.BedBugBusinessPlan.com. The event will be held April 20 from 1-3 p.m. EST.
“We find that most businesses recognize the significance of a bed bug infestation and know many of the inspection and detection basics,” said Greg Baumann, director of technical services for Orkin and facilitator of the “What’s Your Bed Bug Business Plan?” event. “What they face in an operational context – from litigation to HR – is the next phase in the bed bug discussion.”
Orkin partnered with key industry representatives to share best practices on what businesses need to combat bed bugs. Streaming live on BedBugBusinessPlan.com, the 2-hour webinar will feature representatives from AH&LA, BOMA International and NAA to discuss how affected industries can work together to help stop the cycle of bed bugs traveling between industries. Attendees will also learn practical approaches to address the business issues behind bed bugs by choosing to attend one of the breakout sessions led by noted industry experts:
-
Susan Gross Sholinksy, an employment law attorney on HR issues
-
Clifton E. Slaten, an attorney with experience protecting clients from litigation
-
Michael Weisburger, an insurance expert on mitigating risk
Senior Vice President for Governmental Affairs Kevin Maher will represent AH&LA on hospitality issues; NAA’s Director of State and Local Government Affairs Scot Haislip will share multifamily insights; and Senior Vice President Patricia M. Areno, CAE, from BOMA International will discuss bed bugs from an office property management angle.
Attendees will be able to ask questions of the experts, and BedBugBusinessPlan.com will house tools business owners and operators need to protect their business and brand if bed bugs strike.
