What beetle looks like a small crab?

Question: We have a bug that looks similar to a small sand crab that can fly. I don't know where they are coming from, but I do see them inside and outside of our house. What is it?

Answer: What you have may be a pseudoscorpion. Do not let the name frighten you, as they have no relation to scorpions. Pseudoscorpions are predators on mites and small insects. They will not bite people or pets. They live in wooded areas and are usually brought into homes on the fur of pets or the pant cuffs of people who have been in the woods.
